The Devoted Heroine Is Just Acting

A story within a story

Every script Li Qingyu chooses has a heroine who loves with all her heart, desperately and unwaveringly.

Nine out of ten actors who act opposite her can't move on long after filming wraps.

Chang Huai, a new-generation actor who has only recently entered the industry, nervously accepts the opportunity offered by the production team.

At a cast dinner, he happens to see Huo Xuan, a newly popular star, block Li Qingyu's way. "Didn't we promise to be together forever?"

"That was acting. Filming wrapped over a year ago," Li Qingyu reminds him.

His manager gives Chang Huai a serious warning:

"Be careful, Xiao Chang. Don't get sucked in. That woman won't take responsibility. Once she's off set, she's a cold stranger."

"It's just a script. Always remember, it's just a script!"

Chen Zhi, who cried at a concert; Xin Yuanheng, who still includes his character's watermark on every social media post; Zhou Zedong, who suddenly choked up in an interview when talking about his previous production.

They're all cautionary tales.

Chang Huai doesn't believe it. He has a first love, a girl he's never forgotten. How could he fall for her?

After filming wraps, Chang Huai wanders across a bridge late at night in the leather jacket that belongs to his character.

"She loves me," he says, unable to let go. "We'll be together."

[Note] An unconventional entertainment-industry story, told through a series of standalone, melodramatic scripts, similar to quick transmigration.

The heroine is deeply devoted in her roles, but an unfeeling actress off set.

No male lead. Every story has an exceptionally intense romance plot (acted out).
