When a College Student Village Official Enters a Melodramatic Novel

Gao Ning came from a family of civil-service exam devotees, and had even become a proud village official after graduating from university. Then he read a BL novel about a universally adored protagonist and coercive romance, and got so furious his face turned red.

In that book, the lovers chased and fled, loved and suffered, until the country fell, its people were displaced, and all life was devastated.

Gao Ning couldn't see any tearjerking romance in that. All he saw was the suffering of ordinary people whose peaceful lives had been destroyed by a crowd of love-addled fools.

When he woke up, he had transmigrated into the book as a fake eunuch serving the villainous tyrant. The fake eunuch was a disposable extra who would soon be beaten to death once his identity was exposed.

To stay alive under the feudal system, Gao Ning did his best to steer clear of the plot.

But before he knew it, he had caught the tyrant's attention and was being taken by force.

Unlike the protagonist, who was left devastated and helpless by being taken by force, Gao Ning's sense of duty went straight to his head: Woohoo, win over the top leader and secure a safe, painless landing!

Gao Ning: “Your Majesty, please listen carefully to my poverty-alleviation plan (x).”

The tyrant: “?”

After that...

“Your Majesty, if you get the floods in Yuzhou under control, I'll be waiting for you in bed tonight.”

“The Grand Tutor has been steadfastly loyal, as clear as the sun and moon. Pardon him and let him out of prison, and I'll give you a surprise.”

“There may be a miscarriage of justice in the xx case. I recommend reopening the investigation...”

In the end, the tyrant had been coaxed into becoming a wise ruler. “...”

Something felt off.

Gao Ning, a future socialist successor: “Sure, I got wealth, power, and love, but the people got peaceful lives and a prosperous age!”

Reader's guide:

1. Bottom protagonist. Passionate, energetic university-graduate village official bottom x domineering tyrant top who likes taking people by force but is actually very pure-hearted.

2. A very sweet story. The bottom is a fake eunuch, but is fully intact.
