The Unwanted Lover [Nonhuman]

Jewelry designer (shou) x tentacled eldritch god from beyond (gong)

My husband died.

The day before our wedding.

A gunshot, or perhaps poison. He breathed his last in my arms.

It should have been a murder, but no one noticed anything suspicious.

At last, I could carry him around with me wherever I went, taking him outside on every misty day thick with moisture.

Sometimes, his voice would reach my ears, as intimate and full of love as ever.

I think he must be happy with what I'm doing.

That way, he can stay by my side at all times, without anyone finding out.

As for why...

I think it must be because I had too many lovers before, and he didn't trust me.

But wasn't he one of my lovers, too?
