Don't Put It Off Until Winter

When Zhang Yan transferred to Shencheng Experimental High School, he caused quite a stir for a while.

But Xu Qingwang didn't pay him much attention. They sat one behind the other for two months and barely spoke.

One day, Xu Qingwang's best friend came over to hang out and unexpectedly ran into Zhang Yan in the apartment building.

Her friend nearly popped her eyes out. "Holy crap, you two live one floor apart?"

Xu Qingwang: "Yeah."

Her friend: "Then why didn't you tell me?"

Tell her what?

That she and Zhang Yan had grown up together, getting into mischief and trouble, inseparable, playing house as Mom and Dad countless times?

Or that, after they each went back to the countryside for summer vacation in eighth grade, she saw Zhang Yan when they returned, taller by a lot and with a changed voice. Things were already awkward enough, and then, to make matters worse, he accidentally bumped into her chest. After that, they never spoke again?
