I Haven't Been the Boss in Years

Yao Heqia was the only girl among the children of her generation in the compound. She grew up the center of attention, pampered and adored. She lived up to everyone's expectations and grew into a pretty little doll, but she didn't become the sweet, delicate princess everyone hoped for. Instead, she turned into a little menace. As a child, she used a slingshot to break windows, climbed trees to raid bird nests, and, as she got older, led the boys in scaling walls and skipping class, then whistled at pretty girls. Every boy in the compound respectfully called her Boss. One day, a new transfer student arrived at school, handsome enough to be called a menace. He was aloof, and repeatedly turned down the invitations Yao Heqia's group extended to him. Word was, the menace preferred the delicate type. At last, the younger boys saw Yao Heqia stride over, bristling with hostility, and slam a bottle of mineral water down in front of him. The plastic bottle crumpled under the force. She lowered her head and said something. From a distance. Underling A: "What did Boss say?" Underling B guessed: "Nie Xiangchen, ignore me again and you'll end up like this bottle?" One underling who knew a little lip-reading trembled, his face ashen. "Boss seems to have said... said... Nie Xiangchen, can you twist this cap open for me? I can't get it open." All the underlings: ??? Then they saw Nie Xiangchen open the bottle and say something. The lip-reading underling nearly fainted. "Nie Xiangchen asked Boss... asked... Do you want some water? Should I feed you?" All the underlings: ??? How did these two end up flirting with each other? Blurb screenshot dated March 6, 2020 Theme: Study hard and make progress every day
