I Heard You've Had a Crush on Me for a Long Time

A celebrity-world crisis-fixer bottom x an esports demon king top

Wu Nian is a little-known actor whose shows are popular but who never became famous himself. Online haters tease him by calling him a human fire extinguisher.

Determined to put an end to the jokes, Wu Nian worked himself to the bone, acting in more than thirty shows over six years. He pushed himself so hard that his health gave out and he landed in the hospital.

Only then did he wake up and decide to take some time to rest and recover.

Wu Nian asked his company for three months off. Instead of traveling to unwind, he got hooked on video games.

-

Tan Yanzhi, ID: Yan, eight-time KPL champion, former captain of the first Grand Slam-winning team, and now the top gaming streamer.

To his friends and fans, Yan had always seemed aloof and distant, indifferent to worldly concerns. He seemed interested in nothing but games.

One day, he heard his assistant, who was gaming with someone, cry out in despair: "Oh no, my image of Wu Nian is shattered. How can he be this bad at the game?"

The man walking behind him stopped and asked, "Who?"

The assistant grimaced. "Wu Nian, my idol. He's a not-so-famous actor. I don't think you'd know him, Brother Yan."

Tan Yanzhi pressed his lips together and replied, "The name rings a bell."

How could he not know him? Wu Nian was someone he'd been a fan of for six years.

-

After three months of rest, Wu Nian was not only in good health again, he'd also reached the King rank in the game. His friends praised his skills when they played ranked matches together.

Wu Nian didn't bother being modest. "Of course. My teacher is Yan."

A few days later, Tan Yanzhi logged on and saw Wu Nian playing. He messaged him: [Weren't you sleepy?]

Wu Nian: [I'm not going to bed. My agent got me on a gaming variety show, so I have to practice more these days.]

Tan Yanzhi: [A gaming variety show?]

Wu Nian: [Yeah, the Star Showdown Celebrity Tournament.]

When Tan Yanzhi saw the show's name, he turned to his assistant and asked, "Did I turn down a variety show a few days ago?"

His assistant said, "Yes. The Star Showdown Celebrity Tournament wanted you as head coach, but you said you were busy. I was about to turn them down."

Tan Yanzhi: "Bring me the contract."

His assistant: "???"

-

Wu Nian never expected that after joining a gaming variety show, his calm demeanor and easygoing personality would make him a hit. Most of his new fans shipped him with the head coach, Yan.

During one of Tan Yanzhi's livestreams, a fan kept asking: [Brother Yan, is it true that you're dating someone?!]

Tan Yanzhi didn't deny it. "Yeah."

Fan: [Who is it? Is it Wu Nian?!]

Tan Yanzhi: "That's a secret. He doesn't want to make it public just yet."

Fan: [Why do I hear the grievance of someone who hasn't been given a proper title in your voice?]

Tan Yanzhi smiled faintly. "I'm not upset."

After all, how could he be upset when he'd finally managed to win over the man he loved?
