Daily Life on a Western Han Farm

[An extremely long novel, updated whenever the author can. Enter at your own risk.] Set against the backdrop of Emperor Gaozu of Han Liu Bang’s edict in 202 BCE to demobilize soldiers and grant amnesty to slaves, this is a story about ordinary people trying their hand at farming, earning a living, and seeing what life was like in the early Han dynasty. There may also be some family drama. Reader’s Guide: 1. The characters’ names are based on those found in Qin and Han bamboo and wooden slips. The early chapters may read a little like the Qin and Han period, since I’ve woven in some historical details. The later chapters are lighter and easier to read. 2. There is transmigration, but the character has almost no memories of it, only occasional flashes. They don’t know they’re a transmigrator, so you can also read this as a story about a native of that era. The story has a mother and daughter as its dual protagonists, with both of their perspectives represented. 3. This is a genuine farming story, focused on running a farm and cultivating crops. It’s a slow-paced slice of life and an extremely long novel. The author is recovering their health and can’t guarantee daily updates. Regular updates may resume once enough chapters have been written in advance. Theme: The human spirit is more resilient and vibrant than weeds. No matter how devastating the disasters, as long as a spark of life remains and there is a chance to catch one’s breath, people can find the strength to stand again, hold their ground, and thrive.
