Players Don't Need to Be Saved

Arakawa Kiri, a miserable healer-type player.

He was determined to achieve a perfect happy ending, but ended up with countless despairing bad endings.

What? Couldn't save a single one of them?

No problem. He'll cry over each of them in turn, then promptly kill himself and start over.

The player who couldn't save anyone restarted again, numb. But this time, the player had already given up and decided to go with the flow.

But the NPCs seemed to have caught some kind of virus all at once///// and began desperately searching for that illusory figure, one after another.

Arakawa was truly exhausted, so this time he didn't resist. He stayed in the laboratory and quietly waited to die.

Gin: "You're dying."

Arakawa: "Isn't that great?"

Gin: "...Kiri, don't die."

Arakawa: "Why?"

Gin: "Or I'll kill them."

The player finally realized that the NPCs seemed to remember the previous loops.
