After I Transmigrated to Ancient Times and Became a Merfolk

In Yun Zhi's sixteenth year since transmigrating to ancient times, the comfortable life he'd enjoyed vanished overnight. Some of his family were dead, and the rest had fled. A low-status merperson with a disfigured face, he was passed from one bandit to another and sold off.

As Yun Zhi tried to find a silver lining, he thought, It can't get any worse. Things are already this bad...

A tall, broad-shouldered man stopped in front of his cage. His voice was as fierce as a beast's, deep and low. "How much for him?"

Yun Zhi looked up and saw the man's hard features. He shuddered all over. Help! If a man like this buys me as his wife, will I even last a month?!

Could he really be this unlucky?!

But the worst was yet to come. As the man carried Yun Zhi over his shoulder, he heard a woman speaking in a hushed voice. "He's bought another one? How many is that now? He buys them, but they never come back out."

"Maybe he'll eat him... He does have a fish tail, after all..."

Yun Zhi nearly fainted from fright. Now he thought being the man's wife sounded great! He could wash clothes, cook, do housework, and even bear children! He'd give the man a whole litter of babies. Just please don't eat him, sob...

A Jin had bought a merperson, just like all the others he'd bought before. He planned to let him leave once his injuries healed, but this merperson was a little different.

He kept insisting on helping with the work.

And he was terrible at it, always hurting himself. If this continued, when would A Jin ever be able to let him go?

With a dark expression, A Jin grabbed the merperson's wrist and told him he didn't need to do any of this. Before he could finish saying that he should focus on healing, the merperson started crying.

Soft and pale, with tears like pearls, he clung to A Jin's hand and said he could have children.

A Jin was so startled that he let go of the merperson's hand and ran to the river, where he spent the whole day catching fish. His mind was full of the merperson's fair skin, red lips, and little face.

A Jin thought, So this little merperson wants to marry me.

He wants to be my husband.

So that's what it is.
