Passing Through Spring, Arriving in This Summer

Childhood sweethearts | Rekindled love

Before college, they were the famous five-person gang in Yichun Town. Whenever they got into trouble at school, all they had to do was push Xia Yuchuan forward, and every problem would disappear. He was like a good-luck charm, always looking out for them, and for her.

The night after the college entrance exams, Xia Yuchuan cornered Jiang Chuntang at the turn of a narrow alley. With his breath surrounding her, he asked, “Tangtang, could we try being something more than this?”

A relationship that could belong to just the two of us.

Throughout their four years at college, Xia Yuchuan spoiled her until everyone envied her.

Fate had other plans.

In the years that followed, they became people their friends rarely brought up together.

When they meet again, she is an unemployed office worker hiding out in her hometown, while he is still the pride and joy of the adults.

Later, beneath the moonlight in the same alley, Jiang Chuntang grips the collar of the person before her, rises onto her toes, and whispers in his ear, “Should we be together this summer?”
