Sudden Rain in the Long Night [Ye Ting'an × Si Heng]

Five-year age gap x Male stand-in x Testing and push-pull tension x Playing the victim to win her back

Genuinely difficult | Pretending to be aloof

Overnight, word spread through Yucheng's social circles that a young woman had suddenly appeared by the side of the Ye family's young master. She was fair-skinned, gentle, and pretty, and went with him to and from the family estate every day.

Only Ye Ting'an knew that her gentleness was just a facade. In private, she was quite the handful.

During the two years she spent by Ye Ting'an's side, Si Heng knew she only wanted to be a little closer to that face.

But without realizing it, the face in her heart seemed to change. Whenever she drifted off, Si Heng could no longer tell whose face she was looking at.

Ye Ting'an had always known that Si Heng was looking at someone else, not him. Still, when she suddenly disappeared, he smashed up his study.

Years later, when they met again, Ye Ting'an watched her smile as she linked arms with someone else and tipped his head back to drain his glass. Perhaps he really was drunk, because from so far away, he seemed to see Si Heng's maddening smile again.

That night, in a corner of the banquet hall, Ye Ting'an leaned in and cornered her. "Is this the person in your heart?"

Before Si Heng could answer, he retreated with a bitter smile. "Honestly... he's nothing special, and he doesn't look like me at all!"

Si Heng's expression froze. "How would you know?"

Ye Ting'an forced himself to reply, "It doesn't matter anymore."

The man who said it didn't matter came knocking on her door in the pouring rain after learning the real reason Si Heng had left.

The person who opened the door looked at him coldly. "Mr. Ye, how did you end up looking so disheveled?"

So disheveled that it made her heart ache.
