Love Pursues Through the Years [Le Zhengwen X Fu Yanzhou]

Three-year age gap | Two wealthy families | Younger man with a secret crush

"With you, every dream is sweet."

Le Zhengwen thought she'd spend her life in a loveless arranged marriage. After all, what could matter more than her career?

But just six months later, the husband she'd only met a few times came to her with divorce papers. "Let's get divorced. I'll explain things to your family."

Le Zhengwen looked at the injury on his face and asked, "What are you going to tell them? Arranged marriages between prominent families aren't child's play."

"I'll say I'm impotent and can't give you the... happiness you deserve."

His acting and excuse were so clumsy that Le Zhengwen, fresh from work, couldn't be bothered to call him out. She signed her name without hesitation, then asked as she turned to go upstairs, "Do we have to wait a month?"

He shook his head. "No, we can do it tomorrow."

As he spoke, he touched the corner of his mouth, still aching, and hissed under his breath, "Someone's been waiting in line for ages already."

On the day Le Zhengwen got divorced, she received a text: [Don't cry. Come see my dream, okay?]

She went.

And she cried.

Fu Yanzhou owned a private shop, closed to the public. Every detail inside had something to do with Le Zhengwen. It was a beautiful dream he'd built for himself.

His love had begun in the innocent days of youth. He'd treasured every word and smile of hers in that shop.

On the day he learned she was going to marry someone else, Fu Yanzhou rushed back to the country with no regard for anything else. But he was still too late. She'd become another man's wife.

That night, he got drunk with a friend and dialed the familiar number again and again. When she finally answered, he asked in a hoarse voice, "Could you please not marry him?"

Sitting alone in her bridal chamber, Le Zhengwen swirled the wine in her glass and replied, "Fu Yanzhou, I married him because I wanted to."

That one word, wanted, left Fu Yanzhou with nothing more to say.

Before leaving Yuecheng, he used his status as the Fu family's eldest grandson to warn Le Zhengwen's useless husband, "If you so much as touch her finger, I'll come back and chop you up!"

Over the next six months, he did a lot more than just threaten him.

Fu Yanzhou was the biggest reason Le Zhengwen's marriage failed.
