After Helping the Protagonist's Love Interest Escape an Arranged Marriage

(I don't have a suitable character design on hand. I'll commission a new cover for the heroine after the story starts.)

Wen Xun transmigrated into a danmei novel, becoming a female side character who shared her name.

The daughter of a prominent cultivation clan, the original Wen Xun was ambitious and refused to marry a sect elder for political reasons. She went to great lengths to make a distant younger male cousin take her place as the bride.

That's right, the novel's protagonist, the one who gets pursued.

According to the plot, the protagonist would put on women's clothes and marry into the Immortal Sect as the youngest daughter of the Wen family. He would win the hearts of the male leads, then gradually have his secret identity exposed.

The male leads would fly into a rage, torn between love and hate, and spend most of the novel in a drawn-out push and pull with the protagonist. Along the way, they would also make sure to hack Wen Xun, the wicked older sister, to pieces and cast her into an endless hell.

After reading this ridiculous plot, she nearly fainted. Never mind whether a man could plausibly take a bride's place. Did this Immortal Sect really have to arrange a marriage alliance?

On a dark and stormy night, Wen Xun took the protagonist and defected to the Immortal Sect's enemy, the Demon Realm.

Xie Liguang was the youngest ruler of the Demon Realm.

He was a master strategist who never lost, until one day he learned that his time was nearly up.

It was all because in his previous life, he had been a wicked noblewoman.

That noblewoman had done every evil under the sun, and now the consequences of her deeds had come back to haunt him.

Xie Liguang: "..."

He decided to travel through the Mirror of the Mortal World, take on the identity of the cousin who had been sent in her place, and approach his former self to help her turn over a new leaf.
