[Harry Potter] Second Most Important

The betrothal between the Greengrass and Malfoy families is like the final obstacle keeping the protagonists of a melodramatic novel from their happy ending, just waiting for true love to smash it to pieces.

At their engagement party, the two act like strangers and speak coldly to each other, lending credence to the Daily Prophet's rumors of discord. Yet another arranged marriage among the nobility proves to be nothing like the stories.

As soon as the ball ends, Astoria takes the bespectacled top student by the arm and strolls away, while Draco is already being mobbed by his admirers.

Countless eager gazes surround them, waiting for a chance to take their places, but

Moonlight falls coolly beneath the rosebushes. Astoria's eyes shimmer as she hears footsteps and says flirtatiously, "Darling, you forgot your glasses..."

But when she sees who's there, she loses interest at once. "Oh, it's you."

"Did you bump into anything?" she asks with a yawn, then warns him listlessly, "The bookworm and I have only just started, Malfoy. Don't spoil the fun."

The girl holds out her hand and lets her fiance fasten her loosened brooch. The man's white-pine scent draws close to her lipstick-smeared lips, and he chuckles lazily. "I'll be more careful next time."

Astoria has an almost pathological collecting habit: precious gemstones, priceless paintings, ancient and forbidden dark magic, and the bookish top student's passionate kisses.

Among all these dazzling treasures, the arrogant, handsome young master is not out of place, but he certainly stands out.

Draco Malfoy is the second most precious thing to her.

1. Astoria Greengrass x Draco Malfoy

2. Childhood friends, both scumbags.

3. Free, not contracted. I'm writing whatever I want, with a mountain of personal headcanons. Any explanation for out-of-character behavior belongs to me, a lunatic.

4. Anyone who likes this story is my beloved sister, despite having different mothers and fathers.

Thesis: Self-love and confidence matter most
