Little Pelican Goes Viral for Surviving

Hu Bubu is a little pelican living in the heavily polluted Zone C. Every day, she catches star shrimp with her father, sunbathes, and enjoys the scenery. Life is peaceful and carefree.

That is, until one day, her mother, a regional administrator, comes home and angrily complains that her colleagues are useless and can't even find a parent-child team to compete for the region.

Hu Bubu doesn't understand, but she knows her mother is worried.

She earnestly offers an idea: "Mom, why don't Dad and I go compete?"

Hu Mom: "...No, it's too dangerous!"

"Dad, we can go, right?" Hu Bubu asks, full of hope.

Hu Dad blinks, nods, and smiles. "Sure. Let's go compete!"

Once they've made up their minds, father and daughter pack their little bags and head off to the parent-child reality show.

What the little pelican doesn't know is this:

This is the entire Alliance's first parent-child survival show. The production crew has searched the whole universe for the most hostile environments, teeming with bizarre pollution creatures, to use as filming locations.

The winning team, the last to survive the show, will earn their star region unparalleled glory and resources, as well as the Alliance's most precious privilege: a vote in its decisions.

To fight for victory, Zone A, beneath the deep sea, sends a fierce and powerful merfolk chieftain. Zone B, stationed beneath the eternal sky, sends a brutal Golden Dragon Emperor. Zone D, known as the Realm of Dreams, sends a cunning and hypocritical Elf King. Even the Zombie King, who lives year-round in a central Zone E tower, condescends to take part!

On the first day of the show, all the viewers watch the leisurely dressed pelican father and daughter.

They think this pair will end up as ingredients in another family's pot that very day. But in reality...

The little pelican looks at the merfolk father and son on her left, the golden dragon brothers on her right, the Zombie King and his nephew behind her, and the elf siblings in front of her. She quietly covers her huge, drooling beak.

Chopped chili fish head, roasted dragon leg...

Hu Bubu asks in a small voice, "Daddy, are we really not allowed to eat them?"

Hu Dad sighs. "Mom won't let us eat dirty things."

Hu Bubu clings to Hu Dad's leg and solemnly repeats to herself: Dirty things, can't eat them, can't eat them... Oh, but they smell so good!

The entire interstellar audience watches as the ferocious merfolk chieftain personally washes the tiniest cub's hands and cooks for her; the brutal Dragon Emperor becomes her soft bed; the cunning Elf King speaks gently as he weaves her sweet dreams; and the cold-hearted Zombie King becomes her most loyal knight... The little pelican becomes the most popular contestant on the entire show.

[Wait, have all these big shots gone crazy? They're letting such a weak family stay this long?! And there's no way all this popularity is real! How could such a fragile little thing be popular?]

[Come on, so what if she's weak? The whole interstellar world loves a cute, well-behaved cub like Hu Bubu!]

[Bubu is the cutest in the universe!]

Later, when the viewers see Hu Bubu, left alone, swallow an extremely dangerous pollution creature in one bite, someone digs up a record from an ancient book:

"The star pelican can swallow anything. Also known as the biological black hole, it leaves not a blade of grass wherever it goes."

Only then do they realize:

This father and daughter are the strongest of all!
