How to Save Myself After Becoming the Cannon Fodder in a Boy Band

Ting Zheng woke up to find himself as a cannon-fodder character with the same name in an idol-group entertainment novel.

He hadn't even figured out who the protagonist was when he opened his eyes again and found himself at the show venue.

Ting Zheng: ...

At the first stage evaluation, Ting Zheng performed the violin solo he'd learned eight hundred years ago.

He successfully earned an F badge.

Ting Zheng: Damn it, next time I'm definitely getting an A!

"Oh my god, why would someone so good-looking go out of his way to make noise?"

"He played for half a minute and didn't hit a single note."

"The mentors have it rough."

"Every group needs a pretty face. I declare that role yours."

At the first live performance, Ting Zheng's looks left everyone dazzled.

With nothing but his face and his horribly uncoordinated dancing,

Ting Zheng made it all the way to Class A.

Ting Zheng: I knew I could do it!

"Where did this robot come from? He's kind of cute."

"Sweetie, try a little harder. Your limbs look like freshly installed prosthetics."

"No one told me the fairy wouldn't know how to dance when he descended to earth."

At the theme song evaluation, Ting Zheng once again showed his true colors.

The mentors put him in Class D.

Ting Zheng: I've improved!

"Poor thing, he fell from A to D. I can practically see his tears."

"It's okay. Being a little clueless is cute too."

"Twinkle, twinkle, little star. Sweetie, your singing is awful."

Staunchly refusing to be cannon fodder, Ting Zheng worked diligently and trained hard so he could scrape into the debut lineup.

At last, he managed to secure his place in Class A.

Ting Zheng: Yay, I did it!

Fans: If you don't vote and I don't vote, when will Ting Zheng get his big break?

One vote from you, one vote from me, and Ting Zheng will debut tomorrow!

Bonus scene:

After the dorm rooms were assigned,

Ting Zheng's neighbor was a powerful dancer.

Across from him was the main vocalist, with an elegant, ethereal voice.

Diagonally opposite him was a wild rapper who looked down on everyone.

Ting Zheng: Three free tutors all at once? This is so freaking awesome! Heaven really is looking out for me!
