Dewdrop Butterfly

Rekindled love | The hero regrets losing her and chases her back | Heartache and yearning

When Song Qingyao returned from abroad, it was the middle of winter.

At a drinking party, her creditors forced drink after drink on her until her stomach hurt, but she still had to smile and play along.

After the party, she staggered into the restroom and threw up what she had drunk. Then she heard voices from the stall next door.

"Was that Boss Shen at dinner just now?"

"Who else could it be? He's so rich and so handsome."

"I thought Song Qingyao was his girlfriend. He didn't do anything when people forced her to drink?"

"Who said they were dating? If they were, with Shen Mingjin's temper, who would dare lay a hand on his woman?"

His girlfriend?

Song Qingyao staggered and sank to the floor. That had been a long time ago.

On a rainy night in the depths of winter, Shen Mingjin drove home. When he reached the entrance, he saw Song Qingyao waiting there in a pale peach slip dress, her makeup perfectly done.

He didn't even spare her a second glance. He parked in the garage and was about to leave when a pair of arms wrapped around his waist from behind. "Boss Shen, help me."

Shen Mingjin pressed his lips together. "Song Qingyao, don't treat me like a fool you can order around. Touch me again, and I'll make sure you can't survive in the capital."

Song Qingyao staggered over to him, slowly raised a hand, and brushed his reddened eyes. "Then kill me."

"You really think I wouldn't do anything to you?" Shen Mingjin grabbed her wrist, his voice icy. "Get lost."

Later, Song Qingyao really did leave.

On countless nights, Shen Mingjin tossed and turned, unable to sleep. Then, one day, he saw her again.

"Song Qingyao, do you still want me to help you?"

Her voice was calm. "No."

A pair of arms closed around her and pulled her into his embrace. "You have to want it."
