The Spring Warbler Never Returns

When Wei Zheng took the money and chose to marry someone else, Chen Jixing told her that if she ever dared return to the country, he would make sure she paid for it.

After Wei Zheng returned, Chen Jixing really did use every means at his disposal to make life in the country impossible for her.

Until one day, when Wei Zheng got into trouble and faced the possibility of going to prison, Chen Jixing appeared before her with his team of lawyers.

"If you give up custody of the child you had with Lin Yin, I'll help you."

"I will never give up my child."

Chen Jixing gritted his teeth. "Fine. You chose this path. You'd better crawl to the end of it."

Before going to prison, Wei Zheng entrusted the child she had with Lin Yin to Chen Jixing.

In the pouring rain, mother and child stood outside his home. Wei Zheng patted the child's back as he called in his babyish voice, "Daddy."

Chen Jixing flew into a rage. "For this little bastard, you'd even go this far! What makes you think that just because he calls me that, I'll raise him? Raise the child you had with Lin Yin? Not a chance!"
