Mr. Neighbor Takes Care of Officer Xiao De

[01]

My main job is drawing comics, and my side gig is collecting rent. The money I make from commissions isn't even a fraction of what I earn from rent, but I'm still a comic artist. I moved so I could find better inspiration.

There was a narrow gap between the balcony of my new home and my neighbor's. It wasn't wide, but it was enough for me to reach through and pet the little German Shepherd my neighbor kept.

I'm not exaggerating: that little German Shepherd is so handsome, so well-behaved and obedient. He's exactly the dog of my dreams.

I started feeding my dream dog, and even found myself wondering how happy I'd be if he were mine.

I was so caught up in the joy of feeding him that I never imagined my door would be knocked on one day. And there was my neighbor, asking what I'd been feeding his dog.

"He's gained ten pounds in a month!"

my neighbor roared.

When the renowned novelist Cai Bojie dies, Detective Captain Lan Liao is assigned to investigate. He soon discovers that Cai Bojie's death may be connected to his lover, Dong Zhongying.

Dong Zhongying is a famous business magnate, married to Wang Zishi, the group's CFO.

By coincidence, Dong Zhongying died of illness three months ago.

And by an even stranger coincidence, Lan Liao discovers that his neighbor, Xin Yimei, is the son of Dong Zhongying and Wang Zishi.

Lan Liao: ???

Wait, all three people in your family have different surnames?

Later, a friend asks Lan Liao, "You and Xin Yimei are already living together. Why haven't you proposed yet?"

Lan Liao's gaze falls on Xin Yimei. Zhaocai is lying there with his belly exposed to him.

Lan Liao's heart is full of bitterness. "Does he love me? It's obvious he loves my dog."
