Game Too Hard? Install a Mod!

[A goofy, chuuni story. Blurb heavily revised]

[Inspired by all the mods I've been adding to my game lately]

It's 2035, the tenth year since the arrival of the S-Rank Contaminant [Visitor from Beyond] on Earth.

Monsters in contaminated zones are growing more rampant, and more and more children are awakening supernatural abilities. The Jiuzhou Academy of Supernatural Abilities was founded in response.

There's a strange person in Class A of the academy's combat program. The name on his enrollment file is [Braised Chicken Drumstick Is So Tasty].

Braised Chicken Drumstick's ability is rated the lowest, E-Rank, but it seems to affect everyone within his range.

On Braised Chicken Drumstick's first day at school, he's still a pixelated little figure whose face is covered in a mosaic.

On his second day, he becomes a beautiful, long-haired person, refined down to every strand of hair.

On his third day, his Class A classmates discover that their faces have all been changed too!

What?? Who secretly gave them all plastic surgery?!

On his fourth day, the eerie song of the mermaids in the contaminated zone turns into "Wishing You Prosperity" and "Good Luck Is Here";

On his fifth day, the classroom broom turns into a magical weapon that can take down an A-Rank monster with every sweep;

On his sixth day, the Contaminant [Toothed Overlord Flower], which loves to gobble up little kids, boldly declares its love for the cold-blooded combat teacher, causing the gossip forum to overflow and crash;

On his seventh day at school...

Jiang Yuanzhou has recently become obsessed with a pixel-art indie game.

The game itself doesn't have much content, but players have shared tons of creative mods.

Jiang Yuanzhou gave his pixel character a face-swap mod;

He gave his classmates, whose faces had nothing but dot eyes, a beauty mod;

He gave the terrifying mermaid monster a goofy mod that made it sing "Good Luck Is Here";

He gave the E-Rank weapon that couldn't take down monsters a stat-boosting mod;

He gave the character that couldn't be conquered a romance mod...

Later, Jiang Yuanzhou got busy with his studies and didn't open the game for a long time.

Then one day, a never-before-seen monster attack happened near his school, and he saw a familiar face on the news.

Jiang Yuanzhou: ???

Class A: !!!
