An Unfinished Script

1

Everyone mourns his passing.

But my beloved never left. He will live forever in the year we spent loving each other.

Forever twenty-seven, forever happy.

Dear Editor Yu, if I come to celebrate your birthday with you every year, then, to be fair...

Sir, please come to my side too, and stay with me through this day, even if it's only in a dream.

2

[So, Director Qi, have you come to terms with it? Can you be a little happier now?]

[He has already reunited with his beloved. Everything has a happy ending.]

[In at least one timeline, they live to a ripe old age, forever in love, forever free, forever happy.]

[Even after everything has vanished, we still love each other, and millions know it.]

3

"What if we're just a script written by someone in another dimension?"

"Then there's nothing wrong with me loving you."

Bonus scene

If I thread the ring onto a necklace, then every time I accidentally touch it, it'll feel as if you've come to kiss me.

But my beloved, I've already taken the ring off. Aren't you angry?

If so, come find me. When I see you, I'll put the ring back on.

Even if I only dream of you.
