We Were Killed by Our Archnemesis, Then Reborn Together

Wen Shixia took her own life in the Censorate's residence: an imperial decree and a cup of poisoned wine.

That night, the chancellor who was said to have advised the Empress to kill Wen Shixia appeared at the Censorate's residence.

Wen Qiuxu had come to gather her remains.

The moment Wen Shixia opened her eyes after being reborn, she asked the System, "You said if I kept grinding, I'd stay alive."

The System spread its hands innocently. "But you're alive, aren't you?"

Wen Shixia: ...

As if things weren't bad enough, the very next day she was hunted by Wen Qiuxu's people.

She could take refuge with her confidante.

"I want to see your face."

"You'll see it next time we meet."

At the new top scholar's welcome banquet on the banks of the Lin River,

Wen Qiuxu crossed swords with her and won by unfair means.

Wen Qiuxu said each word slowly: "Long time no see, Lord Wen."

"What a shame."

Wen Qiuxu pinned her down and leaned in for a kiss. Even her resistance seemed like flirtatious reluctance.

"Chancellor, why did you kill me in my past life?"

Wen Qiuxu was silent for a long while. "I didn't."

In her past life, Wen Qiuxu had knelt in the snow all day to recover Wen Shixia's body.
