Ruan Lizhen was born before 1609 and died around the time of Emperor Shunzhi of the Qing Dynasty. The name is unknown, she was born in Huaining, the daughter of Ruan Dacheng, the wife of Cao Taiwang, and the mother of Ruan Tang. He is the author of dramas such as "Dream of the Tiger" and "Blood of the Mandarin Pocket", but none of them are passed down today.
The legend of "Swallow Notes" was originally created by Ruan Lizhen and later polished by her father Ruan Dacheng. The drama tells the story of the tortuous marriage and love story between Huo Duliang, a scholar in the Tang Dynasty, Hua Xingyun, a famous prostitute, and Li Feiyun, a daughter of a minister.
