Top-Protagonist
Personally, I like scummy, irresistibly charming, powerful tops, but there are hardly any. I'm not too fond of weak tops, though it depends on the story. I'm a protagonist fan (not always, though; for top-centric stories, I mostly read quick transmigration and insect-tribe fiction).
Su Gong Reading Archive
Love: Dominant tops who are suave, world-weary, or emotionally cold, among other traits. Hate: man-crazy women, submissive wives, plain, unremarkable tops, and other tops who are toys for the bottoms. Keep telling yourself whatever you like, but these are basically stories where the top is treated like a woman.
Romance, No Romance, and Top Leads
I’m into everyone-loves-him stories and BL, mainly from the gong’s perspective or focused on the gong. I occasionally enjoy couples who dote on each other, so feel free to pick and choose. This list is mostly for my own reference. The full stops mean the entries still need to be filled in. I’ll write more once I reach a hundred.
Unconventional Insectoid Stories (Updates in the Comments)
Some insectoid stories with plots and settings that don’t follow the usual formula. This list is mainly for my own reference, and most involve the protagonists suffering, so please check for potential dealbreakers.
Top-Centric Treasure Trove: Ongoing Edition
Ongoing series. Feel free to check for dealbreakers. I lean toward tops, and the bottoms' feelings are stronger than the tops'. A mixed bag: charming tops, weak tops, clingy tops, Mary Sue tops, and strong tops (pretend strong?)
Currently Reading
Someone, please recommend me some stories... Sorry, the rules say no more than 50% of books can get five stars, so some stories have very low ratings. Don't take the star ratings too seriously
Really Great Free Reads! (Ongoing Updates)
Some are free, some have had their paywalls removed, and some are abandoned. I love unusual worlds, charismatic protagonists, and seeing how much others love the protagonist, not just romantically.
Who Dares Kiss This Precious Top?
Trying my hand at making a list! Saving stories I like. I'm a top enthusiast, but I read very quickly and sometimes overlook things that might bother me. If any of my recommendations have something you don't like, feel free to tell me.
Additions
Some obscure stories, abandoned stories, and stories updated whenever the author feels like it.
Zerg-Insect World, Beloved by All, Top-Dom Lead
The protagonist is the focus. I like plots where they use a secret identity and pretend to be weak while secretly being powerful. Most are ongoing or abandoned, so check before you start.
Seme POV 2
Classics I haven't read
A Record of Great Original Stories
Each has its own strengths. Updated irregularly. Also, I recommend A Zerg Major General Gets Tangled Up with a Dark, Occult Master.
Some Zerg Fiction
There are some hugely popular books I don’t like, and they’re still not going on this list. This includes, but isn’t limited to, childish worldbuilding and major problems with the characters or the author’s stance. Updating as I go.
More Seme-Centric, Personal Record
My favorite pairing is a scene-stealing gong x a nobody shou. I don't care about the shou. Bye.
Carefully Curated Top Recommendations
I guess I'm a protagonist fan, and I prefer stories where the top is the main focus. I can't stand secondary couples, so none of these stories have them. Likewise, no idiot tops.
Writing
1
Top-Focused, Top-Leaning
Total top-lover. I just love seeing the bottom act like a lovesick dog for the top, and I love unequal relationships. This list is mainly seedlings, ongoing stories, and abandoned works. I might add completed favorites too
Ten: Longtime Favorites I've Cherished for Years
It's really only been two years. These books were already published ages ago, I just hadn't listed them here.
A Top Fan's Reading Log
Exactly as the title says. If more than half your ratings on VIP novels are five stars, they won't let you keep rating. JJ, I'll report you to the authorities and have you arrested! What a lousy system. Some four-star ratings are actually five stars, if you know what I mean.
Top Romance (Miscellaneous)
Mostly BL with a male lead who takes the top role, with the occasional GB. My tastes change a lot, so you might find any kind of top-role story here, but at heart I'm a protagonist fan...
Self-Indulgent Stories with Top Protagonists
.
Seven: Purchased in 2023, Completed
A list can only hold 100 books.
Hot Pot
Like spicy hot pot: mildly spicy. I can’t handle anything too intense, so just a little heat is perfect.
A Stockpile of Stories with Strong Top-Loving Bottoms
For my own reference. Collected from all over the place. Unless something unexpected happens, they should all be readable. Unlike the other list, I haven't read these yet, or haven't had time to catch up, let them build up, or finish them because they stopped updating.

Hold your breath until you update Shrimp Rice [Clown]
It's well written. It feels like there really is such a world, and there really is such a group of people. Their stories take place in the distant stars.
I just keep squatting like this until the update
Already. . . . A long time. . . . Good. . Long. . . . . . . . . . . I have written more than a hundred chapters of this article. It would be a pity not to finish it 🙏
When will you be back~ 🥺
Damn, you still have an article in Jinjiang that has not been updated 😭 🥺
I will keep waiting, yes... 😭 😭 😭
I won't give up until you finish 🥺
Calculate! Although my love is divided into many parts, every part is sincere, and you are all chosen by me personally (no matter what the purpose is:)) Come back soon, madam!
Where have you been? 😭 It's 2025 😭 😭 😭
