A Perfect Ten in Cuteness

When Huo Chao, the sole heir to the Huo family, was seven, he was kidnapped at a banquet. Ji Jia, a child from the family hosting the banquet, was taken along with him.

Ji Jia's parents were both dead. In the Ji family, he was like an adorable kitten, unloved and ignored, looking pitiful. No one even noticed that he had gone missing.

After they were rescued, Huo Chao held Ji Jia's hand tightly and insisted that the doctor treat Ji Jia first. Then he coaxed him not to look.

Ji Jia thought he was strange. No one at home looked after him, and he often fell and scraped himself. It was no big deal; he could just pick himself up.

But now, even as he said, "Brother, it doesn't hurt," warm tears kept falling into Huo Chao's palm.

The eldest young master of the Huo family wanted him, and the Ji family had no reason to refuse. So poor little Ji Jia was packed up and sent to live with the Huos. Outsiders thought Huo Chao needed a playmate, or perhaps a cute toy.

Only the Huo family knew that wasn't the case.

Once, Huo Chao and Ji Jia went to a bookstore together. As they paid, the clerk saw a child of seven or eight carrying a stack of childcare books and asked with an amused smile, "Did your mom buy these to raise you?"

Huo Chao had a calmness beyond that of most children his age. He shook his head, pointed to the pretty child Ji Jia, who was looking through picture books nearby, and said quietly, "I'm raising him."

He raised him for more than ten years. From older brother to fiancé, the cool and distant eldest young master of the Huo family, Huo Chao, devoted all his affection to Ji Jia.

Ji Jia was his weakness and his vulnerable spot, but not once did he think of letting him go.

Childhood sweethearts, sweet romance, the top dotes on the bottom, the top raises the bottom, and neither can live without the other.
