After Zhu Zhu transmigrates, he discovers a young mermaid imprisoned in the bathtub.
He looks like a seventeen- or eighteen-year-old boy, with snow-white skin, a beautiful face, and deep blue eyes. His long golden hair reaches his ankles and fills the bathtub like seaweed.
His eyes are nearly blind from crying too much. The insides of his arms are covered in needle marks from having his blood drawn too often, and his voice has grown hoarse from singing for too many important people.
A mermaid on the brink of death.
Zhu Zhu watches him for a little while and decides to make the best of things. He has to clean up the mess caused by his predecessor, then release this rare young creature back into the wild.
So he looks up a book in the library and finds this information:
"As everyone knows, sirens are among the most dangerous species in the world, while mermaids (the juvenile form of sirens) are extremely fragile."
"As a result, most people consider mermaids nearly harmless. In this author's view, however, they are also extremely dangerous creatures. If you really intend to keep a mermaid, be sure to follow these one hundred rules and taboos."
"Never touch one without protection."
"Never reveal your feelings."
"Never touch one at all."
"Never fall in love with one."
"Never try to understand the feelings they express."
"Always remember: sirens are creatures entirely different from humans. They are truly dangerous."
"They cannot understand human concepts like love, affection, or companionship. They'll only drag you down to the bottomless depths of the sea and make you one of their treasured possessions."
Zhu Zhu looks at the poor little thing in the bathtub, closes the book without a care, and proceeds to break all one hundred rules.
It doesn't matter. By this world's definition, he's not human either, so there's no reason he has to follow them, right?
End-of-volume quote
"When your heart races at the sight of him, even when he isn't singing, and you find his increasingly sharp tail fin cute instead of strange or frightening, I must tell you some unfortunate news: you have become the siren's captive. He has caught you."
"...Good luck."
Dual perspectives. The seme dotes on the uke and raises him. A sweet romance.
A dragon seme who looks very human x a newly born siren uke who looks very inhuman. The siren is delicate, beautiful, pitiful, vicious, and utterly inhuman. At first, the dragon just raises a little animal out of boredom, until the house he's lived in for ages catches fire and he falls head over heels. A story about two nonhumans falling in love in the human world.
