The first time Qi Zhaoyan met Huo Lanwei was aboard the cruise ship ten years ago.
He lived in the cargo hold on the lowest deck, while Huo Lanwei was the ship's most honored guest. Qi Zhaoyan fell for him at first sight and could never forget him.
They met again on the deck at sunset. As dusk deepened, Huo Lanwei smoked by the railing, handsome and irresistible.
Qi Zhaoyan approached him. "Sir, Miss Zhao asked me to bring you this scarf."
Huo Lanwei slowly slid down against the railing and sat on the deck. His gaze was hazy, his eyes deep enough to make Qi Zhaoyan blush. With a cigarette between his lips, he mumbled, "Would you mind tying it for me?"
The third time, Qi Zhaoyan was working as a waiter on the top deck when Huo Lanwei intervened as someone mocked him.
He returned to his room, heart pounding. The next moment, Huo Lanwei appeared at the door with a glass of red wine and knocked softly. Neither said a word, but after exchanging a glance, they shared an ambiguous kiss.
Qi Zhaoyan thought it was a fleeting affair, a whim of a young aristocrat.
But Huo Lanwei kissed the corner of his lips and said, "I fell for you at first sight, too."
Yet the last time they met, all Qi Zhaoyan received was news of Huo Lanwei's death and a vast inheritance. They never saw each other again.
