How Could I Possibly Be the Demon King?

Isu's peaceful life was shattered one day when all sorts of odd acquaintances and strangers started showing up at his door.

The neighbor auntie: "Your Highness, Demon King! While the Hero is still dead, let's hurry and gather our forces to take over the world!"

His schoolteacher: "Demon King, we need to prepare for the awakening of more of our people. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

Isu: "My college entrance exams are coming up. Please don't disturb a senior student who's studying. Thank you."

With everyone acting so bizarrely, he was the one who seemed out of place for being normal. He cast a suspicious look at his nemesis, Charles. This really wasn't one of his pranks, was it?

He even went to see a psychologist about it.

Isu: "Hello. Can excessive exam stress cause hallucinations? Like suddenly developing chuunibyou and imagining that I'm actually the Demon King?"

Doctor: "...Your Highness, Demon King, this absolutely isn't a hallucination! You are our one and only king. You were born to rule."

Isu: "..."

He decided the world was beyond saving. How could he possibly be the Demon King?

The only thing was, his nemesis Charles had unexpectedly taken his side.

Isu smiled. Fine, he could believe him, even though he was always picking fights with Isu and had a personality so rotten that only his face was worth looking at.

Everyone knew Isu and Charles were sworn enemies, and Isu thought so too. But after this bizarre incident, his nemesis seemed a little more agreeable to him.

"Of course I'm not the Demon King."

"But I am the Hero~~"

"??"

"Hahaha, that's a lie. I was just trying to lighten the mood. Why would I be the Hero who wants to kill the Demon King?"

"You'd better not be..."

Isu lowered his head to study for his exams. Charles propped his chin on his hand and gazed at his deskmate's profile, wearing a malicious smile. "My dear Highness, though I really do mean you harm, the Demon King's fate isn't to be killed by the Hero, of course..."

"Your fate can only be me. I'm sure of it."
