A Banquet on a Spring Day

[Blurb to be determined]

[Currently working on the draft!]

In his previous life, Shen Zhuoyu mistook someone else for the person he loved. He devoted himself wholeheartedly to the Crown Prince, only to end up with his family destroyed and everyone dead.

After death, he floated lightly in the air and watched someone approach from far away, beyond the wilderness. The man wore black, with dark hair. In the pouring rain that day, he stepped through the mud one step at a time, stopped before Shen Zhuoyu's corpse, and gently wrapped his arms around it.

Shen Zhuoyu remembered him. He was Xiao Ji, the new emperor of the Great Sheng Dynasty, infamous for his cruelty and ruthlessness. Shen Zhuoyu had never known why a man like him would come to collect his body.

Later, as his soul drifted away on the wind, he gradually remembered. This was the very person who had once helped him to his feet and left him with a fleeting, unforgettable impression.

He had mistaken the wrong person for his love, and paid for it with everything.

--

Shen Zhuoyu never expected to get the chance to live again. He had yet to meet the Crown Prince, and there was still time to set everything right.

Xiao Ji was just as he had been in his previous life. Whenever he saw Shen Zhuoyu, he would keep his distance, his expression dark and hostile, as though he were looking at an enemy. But Shen Zhuoyu could see the ears turning red with fluster beneath that icy facade.

He clearly wasn't trying to avoid him. He just didn't know how to respond.

In his previous life, Shen Zhuoyu had failed himself and betrayed Xiao Ji's heart. This time, he would never make the same mistake again.

[Content warnings] 1. The author's skills are limited, so please don't expect anything like court intrigue (?).

2. Really, I just want to write about a couple being in love, hehe.

3. I'll add more if I think of anything!

Theme: If the mountain won't come to me, I'll go to the mountain.
