The Foolish Emperor

Xie Yunqi has never had a good impression of Lu Jianshu. The reason is simple: he is always bullying him. Sure, by status he's just a eunuch, but eunuchs are people too, aren't they? The 101st time a certain prince forced him to lie in bed in his arms, he screamed inwardly: Who decided eunuchs had to share a bed with people, huh?!

But Xie Yunqi discovers that Lu Jianshu seems to have a lot of secrets.

For instance, the jade pendant he gave to the child he once saved turns up beneath Lu Jianshu's pillow. And when Lu holds him as they sleep at night, Xie can always hear him calling his name, even though Lu once looked him in the eye and coolly claimed he hadn't remembered it.

Worse still, someone seems to have a penchant for cross-dressing...

Once, Xie hears that the capital's most famous brothel has a newly chosen courtesan, a peerless beauty with dazzling talent. Unable to resist, he sneaks into the brothel, finally getting the chance to see her for himself... But can someone explain why the courtesan looks exactly like Lu Jianshu?

Are they long-lost siblings or what?!

"Young Master Xie, His Majesty is calling for you."

"What for?" Xie asks, unconcernedly munching on a chicken wing.

The messenger hesitates, then stammers, "His Majesty, His Majesty said..."

"What? Does he want to discuss something with me?"

"No, he said he wants you to attend him in bed."

At last, the little eunuch manages to get the words out. His face turns bright red, and he bolts, leaving Xie Yunqi frozen in place, teacup in hand.

The next second, the door swings open. Someone steps inside with a radiant smile and walks toward him, one step at a time.

Xie Yunqi sets down his cup and runs, only to be grabbed around the waist and tossed onto the bed.

"Why are you running, husband?"

As Lu Jianshu bends over him, Xie Yunqi thinks: I'm doomed. This emperor is so tyrannical, the country is going to fall.
