After We Broke Up, the Whole Entertainment Industry Ships Me with My Ex

Avoiding Suspicion

Lin Youzhi, a D-list star, never imagined he'd suddenly become famous.

It started when he rolled his eyes at the awards ceremony of Yu Yan, the newly popular top-tier star.

Then he accidentally knocked over Yu Yan's water cup.

Finally, someone dug up an old clip of him, back when he was just an extra, spinning the table while male lead Yu Yan was picking up food.

Overnight, one after another, hot searches attacking him shot to the top: #LinYouzhiRollsHisEyes, #LinYouzhiDisrespectsHisSenior, #LinYouzhiForgotWhereHeCameFrom.

His agent panicked and told Lin Youzhi to get on his knees and apologize, but Lin Youzhi firmly refused.

Agent: Why?

Lin Youzhi: He's my ex.

Agent: ...?

Lin Youzhi: The kind of ex you end things with after a complete falling-out.

Agent: ?!!

To win back public favor, Lin Youzhi has no choice but to join a new variety show. The moment he gets out of the car, he runs into his ex, Yu Yan.

Lin Youzhi nearly makes a run for it.

Under pressure from his agent, Lin Youzhi can only grit his teeth, spend time with Yu Yan, and avoid giving people the wrong idea.

And so...

Yu Yan greets him, and he barely responds.

Yu Yan asks after him, and he ignores him.

Even when they're in the same room, Lin Youzhi keeps a whole galaxy between them.

This string of actions earns him another wave of abuse. But just then, one comment comes out of nowhere.

[Netizen 1]: Clingy top-tier star x straight-guy homophobic flop, am I the only one who ships this?!

Then it gets completely out of hand.

[Netizen 2]: You only avoid suspicion when there's something between you. What secret are you two hiding from us?

[Netizen 3]: First time I've seen a top-tier star this desperate. I refuse to believe you two aren't close!

[Netizen 4]: This is the crack ship I ordered!

Lin Youzhi: Do you people have a fetish for eating weird things?

As the "Say It, Don't Say It" ship grows more popular, all kinds of suggestive couple edits and fan fiction come pouring in.

Lin Youzhi has no choice but to speak up directly: There's no story here. Don't pair us up. We're not doing this for publicity.

But the very next second, someone reposts his Weibo post with the caption: "Long time no see."

The person reposting it: Yu Yan.

Lin Youzhi: ...

The sky is falling!!!
