He Went Mad After We Cut Ties

They say a man who gets his hair permed during the first lunar month will turn gay.

The first time Ling Lang meets Tan Jingheng, his new mother has taken him to get a perm. Their eyes meet in the mirror.

Everyone in this blended family is a little crazy. His mother loves acting, and his father loves rock music.

Eleven-year-old Ling Lang sniffles through his tears. "Nobody loves me..."

Nineteen-year-old Tan Jingheng, looking handsome in his suit, puts on the air of an elder. "I love you, Orfeo. Your little uncle will always love you."

Seven years later, at the year-end banquet, the young man gets tipsy and confesses to the little uncle he once had. He is brutally rejected.

Furious, he bites Tan Jingheng's lip until it bleeds. The entire room is stunned.

"From now on, whenever you kiss someone else, I want you to think of me!"

The next day, Ling Lang goes abroad to study. Tan Jingheng doesn't kiss anyone else again, either.

Neither of them ever mentions that night's confession again.

Studying alone in a foreign country, Ling Lang pours all his love and hate into his songs. Under the name Orfeo, the god of music, he creates countless hit songs.

Five years later, Ling Lang secretly enters the grand competition The Sound of the Times.

After all this time apart, he brings two big gifts for the show's producer: the president of Yusheng Records, and his beloved little uncle.

First, he introduces him to his blond, blue-eyed boyfriend. Second, he gives him a bank card.

"To repay what I owe you," Ling Lang says respectfully.

"Is this your way of cutting ties with me?" Tan Jingheng looks at the bank card. "You think you can settle the debt with this, Ling Lang?"

Ling Lang asks sweetly, "Then how would you like me to repay you?"

The usually calm and restrained man suddenly loses control. Grabbing his wrist, he says the most absurd thing he has ever said: "Date me. Starting now!"

"You think you can just tell me to date you?" Ling Lang scoffs. "Sorry, I've grown up. I'm not interested in you anymore."

Later, when the show airs, Ling Lang's singing takes the entertainment world by storm. People say the voice of an angel kissed him.

Tan Jingheng stands backstage, watching the singer beneath the spotlights.

"An angel isn't worthy of kissing him. My Orfeo is the god of music."

"You are my song of the year."
