The Little Fox Wants to Become Human

Yuan Sheng asked the little fox, "Can you take human form?"

The little fox shook its head and drew a 99 in the dirt with its paw.

"You're 99 years old?"

The little fox gave Yuan Sheng a look as if he were an idiot.

Yuan Sheng said awkwardly, "Could it be that you'll need another 99 years before you can transform?"

This time the little fox nodded, sweeping its fluffy tail over Yuan Sheng's calves as if praising him.

But Yuan Sheng sighed. "Ninety-nine years? Then I won't live to see what you look like as a human..."

That's right, a human life lasts less than a hundred years. Yuan Sheng was 17 now, so even if he lived to the ripe old age of 100, he only had 83 years left. He was still 16 years short of 99!

Yuan Sheng felt a little regretful. There was now another person whose face he would never even be able to dream of...
