What Good Is Sucking Up to Me?

Everyone in Fengchu Village is saying that the village is about to see a change of leadership. The newly arrived university graduate assigned to help with poverty alleviation will replace the current village Party secretary, He Tiantianlong, and become the next secretary.

But after the graduate arrived in Fengchu Village, he didn't replace He Tiantianlong. He was a doctor sent under the "Three Supports and One Assistance" program to improve the village's medical care, not to become a village official.

Then the rumor changed: once the graduate had made a name for himself, he'd take over as village secretary anyway, so he was still here to replace He Tiantianlong.

So, hoping to curry favor with the future village secretary, the villagers went all out to fawn over Fu Yuanfeng.

The one who fawned over him most diligently was Liu Chang Sui.

Fu Yuanfeng made it clear to Liu Chang Sui that he wasn't going to stay and become the village secretary, and told him he didn't need to keep currying favor.

But Liu Chang Sui said, "I'm not sucking up to you. I really like you, and I want to give you the best things I have."

Fu Yuanfeng stood there, stunned.

(I've planted a lot of little seeds lately, all short stories under ten thousand characters. They're quick and fun to write, so come take a look~)
