[Jiang Zhi transmigrates into Ying Zheng's sword. Yes, the very sword from the famous “The King Takes Up His Sword” story.]
Synopsis:
Jiang Zhi is always unintentionally sharp-tongued. After transmigrating into a cold, lifeless sword, she is forced to witness a melodramatic scene of a father abandoning his wife and children to flee.
A little boy named A Zheng tearfully clutches the sword his father left behind. Jiang Zhi wants to comfort him, but the words that come out are: “You little crybaby. Your dad's off chasing wealth and status. Even if you cried a river, do you think he'd swim back?”
The boy stops crying at once.
Just as Jiang Zhi is regretting her words, the Talent Nurturing System finally arrives. It says that if she helps the child before her ascend to the throne, she can regain a human body and receive a random goodie bag. The contents could include martial arts manuals, high-yield seeds, papermaking, gunpowder, and more...
Jiang Zhi: ?
Who is supposed to ascend to the throne? This crybaby? You've got to be kidding!
Even though she can't believe it, Jiang Zhi has to do her best to “comfort” the boy whenever he feels dejected if she wants to get her body back.
“It's fine. You just can't even lift a sword. By now, your dad probably has a new son who's definitely better than you.”
“Oh, getting upset because your mother hit you? She's all lovey-dovey with wild men every day. Who knows, maybe she'll run off with one of them someday.”
“Tsk, so what if people look down on you? You're so angry that you've stopped practicing martial arts. Great job. They'll just bully you again next time.”
Every time she finishes, she regrets it terribly. But it works surprisingly well. A Zheng always manages to pull himself together, then grits his teeth and warns her that she'd better not turn human, or he'll have her skinned alive.
Jiang Zhi doesn't take him seriously. “Sure. I'll be waiting.”
Later, A Zheng is just one step away from unifying the realm. During the celebratory banquet, someone tries to assassinate him. Jiang Zhi blurts out, “I told you, you shouldn't pop the champagne halfway through. Look, now you've, ”
Before she can finish, she hears the assassin shout, “Ying Zheng, prepare to die!”
Jiang Zhi, catching the key words: “???”
Wait, Ying what Zheng??!
A Zheng is the First Emperor himself???!!
Yikes, let her think. What did A Zheng say he'd do to her? Oh, skin her alive. Is there still time to run off with the scabbard?
Meanwhile, Ying Zheng suddenly can't draw his sword. “?”
Sob, I meant to write a warm, lighthearted synopsis, but it seems to have gone off track. The heroine is sharp-tongued but soft-hearted. Her mouth is quicker than her brain, and she doesn't mean to offend people. She's the type to make a cutting remark one moment, then feel terribly guilty and apologize the next.
