The Undercover Little Chef

A new food stall has recently become popular in Pingkang Ward. The stall is run by a young woman, who makes a delicious new snack called jianbing guozi. Its only drawback is that she keeps irregular hours, and she hasn't set up shop for several days!

After a customer dies under mysterious circumstances, everyone in Pingkang Ward is brought to the Dali Temple for questioning. To their surprise, the person taking their statements is the young woman who sells jianbing guozi!

This young woman is Tang Jiayue, a police academy graduate who has traveled through time. She used to be a cook, but since everyone in Pingkang Ward is female, she volunteered to go undercover. After her undercover work earns her merit, she is promoted ahead of schedule to the Dali Temple, where she finally meets her idol, Di Renjie.

Just as she'd imagined, Lord Di is wonderful. He praises her, takes her along to a joint trial conducted by the Three Judicial Offices, and even offers to introduce her to his disciple.

Tang Jiayue excitedly looks forward to it, only to see their archenemy, the Vice Minister of Justice who repeatedly beat them to the suspects during their pursuits, bow before Lord Di and say, "This disciple pays his respects to Master!"

What? The archenemy I've always wanted to take down is my idol's disciple? She's in trouble in the upcoming joint trial by the Three Judicial Offices!
