My Childhood Friend Is Always Putting on an Act

Shen Jun is a member of the mysterious and noble dragon race, the most revered species in the Federation, yet he has a refined, delicate human childhood friend.

His friend was sent to live with Shen Jun's family, and the two have been inseparable since they were little.

They eat, go to school, sleep, and do everything else together.

Shen Jun has always thought that, despite his childhood friend's brilliant mind, he could get hurt if he wasn't careful, just like the first time they met. He needed to be protected.

Until Shen Jun saw with his own eyes Pei Nian crush the head of an alien creature with his bare hands, then take off in a mecha and wipe out an ambushing squad of them.

Shen Jun: "..."

His feelings are a tiny bit complicated.

He feels like he's been had.

Under Shen Jun's doubtful gaze, Pei Nian calmly walks out from among the mountain of alien corpses, shakes the sticky green blood off his weapon, then silently comes to Shen Jun's side and takes his childhood friend's hand.

"There are so many aliens. It's terrifying."

"...?"

Shen Jun finally understands the looks his friends have given him since they were kids, the ones that said they wanted to say something but held back.

His childhood friend isn't fragile and doesn't need protecting. He just needs an admission letter from the Federation's Academy of Dramatic Arts. :)

As for Shen Jun, he probably needs to download an anti-scam app.

Pei Nian liked pretending to be weak as a child, tricking his little childhood friend into giving him candy.

When they grew up, he suddenly realized...

The little soft candies in his childhood friend's hands weren't the only sweet things.
