No Flirting in the Office

After finally landing an easy job where she could slack off, Jiang You Ning didn’t get to enjoy it for long. The department’s new director, Cen Ye, was parachuted in from headquarters.

Rumor had it that headquarters was a breeding ground for industry poison, so even her laid-back colleagues were wary of their new director.

Cen Ye had bright eyes and lovely features, and a warm, welcoming smile always graced her face when she spoke.

On her very first day, the group chat exploded. No one could believe that such a beautiful woman could be industry poison.

Only Jiang You Ning knew the truth. She had suffered at this woman’s hands firsthand.

The countless reminders to sit still and stop bouncing her leg, never to leave even a single grain of rice in her bowl, and the neat bow of ribbon tied around her wrists in bed...

All of it warned Jiang You Ning to stay far away from Cen Ye!

Before long, Cen Ye’s brisk, no-nonsense style had the whole department suffering. Behind her back, they started cooking up all sorts of schemes, determined to get Cen Ye to join them in slacking off.

Jiang You Ning had nothing but contempt for their plan. “If you want Cen Ye to slack off, you might as well believe she has a crush on me.”

Just before quitting time, Jiang You Ning went to the director’s office to drop off some documents.

Cen Ye looked up at her, smiling. “Here to make up with me?”

Jiang You Ning: “...?”

-

At a meeting one day, Cen Ye followed her usual routine and invited the department staff to ask her three questions once it was over.

The regularly scheduled meeting torture arrived right on time. After managing to waste two of the questions, some people watched as Cen Ye’s gaze settled on Jiang You Ning, who was frantically searching for something.

“Where did my lipstick go?” Jiang You Ning whispered to the person beside her, completely unaware.

The next second, Cen Ye, seated at the head of the table, answered the ambiguous third question in a voice that sent a shiver down her spine:

“Didn’t you leave it by the floor-to-ceiling window at home? Forgot already?”

Jiang You Ning remembered the scene from last night, when the woman had used the lipstick to draw all over her...

Who could possibly remember details like that when they’d been overwhelmed to the point of passing out??
