After Marrying My Wealthy Older Sister

After Bai Jin’s mother dies, her father neglects her and her stepmother drives a wedge between them.

Her career in the entertainment industry isn’t going well, either. Caught up in a mistress scandal, she goes abroad in search of opportunities, only to discover that her girlfriend of eight years has been cheating on her.

Heartbroken, she heads to a bar to drown her sorrows.

She never expected that alcohol would give her the courage to tease her childhood friend, whom she hasn’t seen in over a decade.

After waking up beside Wen Yu, Bai Jin remembers how cold Wen Yu was when they met again, and how she carried herself like someone at the top, surrounded by admirers. Bai Jin feels as if her whole world has collapsed.

While Wen Yu is asleep, Bai Jin tries to sneak away. But when she turns around, she finds Wen Yu watching her with her eyes open.

Bai Jin braces herself and keeps pretending they don’t know each other, stammering out a promise: "Sis, I’ll take responsibility for you!"

Unlike Bai Jin, who’s nervous and flustered, Wen Yu is perfectly calm. She sits up, leans against the headboard, and leisurely puts on her watch before asking with a smile, "How will you take responsibility?"

Bai Jin ventures, "Bring you tea and water, work like an ox and a horse?"

After making that grand promise to Wen Yu, Bai Jin returns to China, thinking they’ll never meet again.

But when she attends a dinner party after returning, she runs into Wen Yu once more.

Bai Jin nearly blacks out. Throughout the evening, she’s extra careful to avoid anywhere she might come face-to-face with Wen Yu.

But after the party, Wen Yu finds her, pins her in a corner, and gently hooks a finger under her chin. In a low voice, she asks, "Xiao Bai, had enough of pretending we don’t know each other?"

Bai Jin: ?

"You said you’d take responsibility. Let’s get married."

Bai Jin: !

After taking responsibility for Wen Yu, Bai Jin’s life takes off.

She settles accounts with her father and stepmother, and her acting career starts going smoothly, too.

She thinks she’s just Wen Yu’s appendage, and doesn’t feel entirely at ease using all the advantages Wen Yu brings her.

So when she gets the chance, she lays everything on the table with Wen Yu, hands her the divorce papers, and flees abroad.

But she never expected Wen Yu to follow her. It’s obvious she intends to catch her.

Bai Jin has never seen Wen Yu look so dangerous. It’s as if a sleeping predator has awoken, eyeing the prey it’s determined to claim.

She doesn’t dare provoke Wen Yu. All she can do is close her eyes, tense from head to toe, and endure everything Wen Yu gives her.

But Wen Yu insists that she look up.

Those beautiful, captivating eyes that were usually so unruffled now hold a trace of anger, along with something she’s clearly trying to suppress. Wen Yu lights a cigarette.

As the smoke drifts softly across her face, Bai Jin hears Wen Yu ask nonchalantly, "Xiao Bai, how dare you?"

-

Wen Yu has always been calm and restrained. One of the few times she let herself go was that wild night with Bai Jin before returning to China.

She’s always had the confidence and composure of someone in a position of power. Whether Bai Jin flirted with her at the bar, pretended to have forgotten her, or later admitted to using her, Wen Yu never got angry.

The one thing she couldn’t accept was that Bai Jin was slower than her to realize her feelings, making her wait so long to finally get what she wanted.

A sweet, innocent-looking black-hearted bunny × a cool, elegant, scheming CEO

Reader’s guide: Same-sex marriage is legal in this setting.

Both leads have only been with each other.

Not your typical sweet-on-the-outside, scheming-on-the-inside character.

The author is hopeless at logic. Everything is fictionalized to serve the plot, so please don’t overanalyze it.

That’s all for now. I’ll add more if I think of anything.
