Encountering a Demon

Su Ruoshui is a demon. Her closest friends and family were all killed by Celestial Masters. The people she hates most are Celestial Masters, and all she wants is revenge, even if she has to tear them apart limb from limb.

But her attempt at revenge failed, and her demon core was cut out. She was close to death.

As she lay dying, Qi Ruyu saved her, the most dazzling young man in the Celestial Masters' Bureau.

Qi Ruyu is a strange person.

Though he is a Celestial Master, he didn't kill her. Instead, he saved her for reasons of his own. He treats demons as kindly as people, judging them only by whether they are good or evil. His eccentric behavior is nothing like that of a Celestial Master. Su Ruoshui doesn't believe anyone can be that good, because good people never get rewarded. If she could, she would kill Qi Ruyu.

Later, a host of Celestial Masters surrounded her with a vast sword formation. They declared righteously that they would skin her and cut out her heart to punish evil and uphold justice. As she was about to die, Qi Ruyu still stood in front of her. The slight young man fought desperately with nothing but a sword, protecting her with his life.

That day, Qi Ruyu was expelled from the Celestial Masters' Bureau.

That day, Su Ruoshui could not understand, even as she lay dying. Why was someone so gentle and kind a Celestial Master? Celestial Masters and demons were sworn enemies, destined to oppose each other for all eternity.

Yet he smiled and wiped away her tears, utterly unconcerned. "I told you, you're my little demon. No one but me is allowed to bully you."

Qi Ruyu's childhood was lonely and difficult, and he was born blind. To cure his eyes, his master went to the Heavenly Mountains to borrow a snow lotus.

The snow lotus stayed with him for three whole years. When his sight returned, the flower vanished without a trace. The next news he heard of her was the tragic report that the snow lotus clan had been wiped out.

He went to the Heavenly Mountains several times after that, but found nothing.

He thought she was dead. He never imagined that when they met again, she would be lying all alone in a pool of blood, with the world watching her fade away. Her demon core was shattered; her soul was about to perish. In that moment, Qi Ruyu couldn't explain what he felt. He only knew that no matter what it took, he had to save Su Ruoshui and keep her in this world.

A cunning, sharp-tongued snow lotus demon who is good at disguising herself x a sunny, righteous young Celestial Master
