Blue Morpho Butterfly

Li Jin was born a favored child of heaven, wild and unrestrained. He seemed flirtatious, but in truth he was cold and heartless.

He was all alone. No one could get into his heart.

Zhou Miao had no comment.

At a school sculpture exhibition competition, the two made a bet.

Late at night, Zhou Miao stood by the swimming pool, looking down at Li Jin beneath the water. Her expression was calm as she said, "I won't lose to you."

As she turned to leave, Li Jin wickedly grabbed her ankle. Water splashed everywhere as he pulled Zhou Miao down with him, and they sank together, temporarily leaving the world behind.

Their eyes met. The young man raised an eyebrow, smiling with carefree abandon. His smoldering gaze fixed on her as he slowly said, "If you lose, you'll model for me."

"As a nude model."

Zhou Miao stared at him. A flash of satisfaction passed through her eyes amid her panic.

Only she didn't know that Li Jin had met her long ago.

--

In Li Jin's eyes,

Zhou Miao was nothing like other girls.

She never got too close. She kept her distance, and there wasn't even a hint of warmth in her eyes. Sometimes, he felt as if his world held no trace of her, but when he turned around, it seemed that her shadow was everywhere.

He watched her come closer, step by step.

And he willingly let himself get swept up in the whirlpool.

He knew very well

that beautiful things often conceal poison,

and under the sunlight, they shine in dazzling, vivid colors.

Like the blue morpho butterfly, and like Zhou Miao.

--I knew one step forward meant falling into the abyss,

--but I still obediently stood before him.
