How Did My Brother Get Here Too?

Wen Shizhen transmigrated into a book, becoming a disposable character in a political-intrigue novel. He throws his weight around between the male lead and his love interest, only to meet a tragic end.

With an omniscient, all-powerful older brother who controls everything at home, Wen Shizhen has spent his life as a useless freeloader. When he learns that the novel is already halfway through and that he's thoroughly offended both male leads, he squeezes his eyes shut. Maybe I should just die again...

The ruler of the empire is a moody, cold-blooded tyrant who loves killing. At the end of the story, the two male leads overthrow him, and he dies miserably.

At a palace banquet, Wen Shizhen wonders what the tyrant, who shares his miserable fate, looks like. He looks up, then freezes.

Wait. Why does the tyrant look exactly like my older brother from the modern world?

After speaking with him, Wen Shizhen realizes, Oh my god, it's really my brother! How did he transmigrate here too? And become the true ruler of this empire?

Confident in his brother's abilities, Wen Shizhen thinks, This is in the bag.

After finding a way to get in touch with his brother, Wen Shizhen goes back to being a useless freeloader. But as time passes, he begins to realize something is wrong.

His brother's gaze grows stranger and stranger. Every so often, he keeps Wen Shizhen at the palace for long, candlelit talks. Then, just as Wen Shizhen is about to start dating a new common-born top scholar, his brother corners him in his bedroom.

"You can date your brother, can't you?"

*In his previous life, the love interest was adopted. The main characters are not related by blood.
