What a Shock! My Mom Is the Emperor's White Moonlight

Xie Yumu was reborn, returning to the time before her mother was killed by bandits when the city fell.

Looking at her mother, who was over thirty but still stunningly beautiful, she resolved that in this life, she would help her mother escape the rebel army and survive until the new dynasty was founded.

She would never again dream of becoming a prince's consort, nor be used as a shield by the hero and heroine of some romance novel.

But why did the new emperor, the one who founded the dynasty, marry her mother and make her empress? And why did her mother and the emperor even begin ruling together as co-sovereigns?

The princes who had once looked down on her were now kneeling before her, asking for her hand in marriage in the hope of winning the emperor's favor.

What a joke! Why would she let them swoop in and take advantage? She would persuade her mother to have a son of her own, so her younger brother could ascend the throne.

Luo Shu was born into a distinguished family and married a nobleman she loved dearly.

Although they had only one daughter, her husband and in-laws were understanding and never brought up the idea of taking concubines.

In the middle of the night, her only regret was that she had let down her childhood sweetheart.

But in a single night, the world fell into chaos. Her husband's fate was unknown, and she struggled to survive in the turmoil with her daughter.

Before they fled the city as it fell, her daughter unexpectedly insisted that they take a different route.

On the way, Luo Shu was struck by a stone, and then she had a dream.

In the dream, her daughter was a minor character in a romance novel.

She died on the day Luoyang fell, while her daughter narrowly escaped and made it back to her maternal uncle's home.

Then the new dynasty was founded and peace returned to the realm. The founding emperor turned out to be the childhood sweetheart she had once loved!

But her daughter never got a happy ending. She became a minor character in a romance novel.

She was made a shield by the hero, a prince who plotted to seize the crown prince's position for the heroine. After he ascended the throne, he had her executed with a cup of poisoned wine.

When she opened her eyes again, she saw her daughter looking at her with worry in her eyes and swore she would protect her.

Outside Luoyang, she watched the emperor pass by and glance at her disdainfully, and smiled.

One look was all it took to know that he had never forgotten her and still loved her deeply.
