My Archrival Is Actually My Fiancé

Sui Zhao had been competitive since childhood, always striving to come first in everything.

That was until she met Luo Chaoshen, her childhood friend, who was hailed as a genius.

Luo Chaoshen memorized poems at three, wrote them at five, and learned martial arts at eight. Everyone who met him said he was destined for great things.

Sui Zhao refused to believe it. She spent half her life competing with him, until at last an imperial decree arrived ordering his father to take up a post in Jiangnan.

Before meeting Luo Chaoshen, she had been a young lady born with a silver spoon in her mouth. After he left, she steadily worked her way up to become Vice Minister of Justice.

Everyone in the Ministry of Justice knew her to be meticulous and strict with herself. She was a notorious she-devil, until an imperial decree sent Luo Chaoshen to the Dali Temple as its newly appointed Minister.

Sui Zhao: "..."

Murders began cropping up across Jiangnan. The emperor ordered the two of them to work together on the cases, forcing these two people who could never stand each other to see one another day in and day out.

A little scene:

Sui Zhao gently pried open the victim's mouth, trying to collect the traces of medicine left inside.

Standing half a meter away, Luo Chaoshen suddenly said, "This poison eats away at the skin, turning it dark green in a short time. My Lady Vice Minister, aren't you wearing gloves?"

Sui Zhao: "..."

Wow, would it have killed you to say that sooner? We really can't get along.

Sui Zhao couldn't stand him. He was always acting so high and mighty.

But many years later, she never imagined that one day she would hold that lofty man's hand and say, "Let's go home."
