How Could Lord Muzan Be Getting All Hot and Bothered?!

From nobles to commoners, all of Heian-kyo knew that the unfortunate youngest child of the Ubuyashiki family had been frail and sickly from birth. Every physician and onmyoji in Heian-kyo had declared that he would not live to adulthood.

The frail young child lay on his sickbed, afraid of death. He vented his anger and cursed this unfair world. Illness had ravaged his body, while fear held his soul in its grip. He lay on his soft bed day and night, with nothing to do but pray for divine mercy:

God, if You can hear my base and selfish wish, I beg You to grant me a healthy body.

"I would give everything, my body, my soul, all that I own and all that I could take, in exchange for the right to walk beneath the sun in good health, "

It heard its believer's prayer.

The believer wore his long hair loose and disheveled, and his gemlike eyes were often full of tears.

His frail body was always whimpering in pain.

At night, when all was quiet, he would wrap himself tightly in the finest silk for fear of the dark, making It want to swallow the delicious vessel and fragile soul whole.

It liked him very much.

That night, the exorcism talismans his family had prayed for burst into flames without a breeze in the boy's residence.

Thirteen tentacles reached into the boy's soft bed
