The Core of the Fall

During a battle against monsters, the Third Division of the Defense Force rescued a young woman. Aside from being calmer than most people and claiming to be the vice-captain's fiancée, she seemed perfectly ordinary.

But the vice-captain she called her fiancé acted very strangely when he saw her.

When Bai Shen Fenghua saw Hoshina Sojiro's hand resting on the hilt of his sword, she fell into thought.

Was Sojiro happy to see her again after all this time, she wondered, or was he thinking about how to cut through her shell and crush the core inside?

She didn't know what Sojiro was thinking.

But she knew that whether she saw him again or was killed by his own hand, she would be happy.

Note: 1. I love squinty eyes and little fangs!

2. Bad ending.
