Cherish the Spring

One day, Duan Huaqiong sees her husband bring home a young man, saying the man saved his life. He makes the young man his sworn younger brother and lets him live with them.

Huaqiong finds him refined and courteous, and is delighted with him, treating him like family too.

The sworn younger brother is handsome as the moon. Though he has nothing, he is skilled in martial arts and clever, and manages the Duan family's publishing business with impressive efficiency.

He and Duan Huaqiong get along wonderfully.

But beneath Duan Huaqiong's happy, peaceful life lies one regret.

She and her husband have been married for six years, but have no children. She has no choice but to find her husband a concubine.

She doesn't want to, and she can't accept it. But there's nothing she can do.

In her gloom, she crosses a line with a childhood friend.

And then everything changes.

Duan Huaqiong doesn't understand how things ended up like this.

Her husband is on the run, her lover is dead, and her sworn younger brother is still by her side.

But one day, he stops her. His eyes full of pain, he asks her,

"Sister-in-law, you're so affectionate by nature. Why won't you spare me even one look?"
