The Ex-Girlfriend and the Unattainable Love

Lu Lingyue used to think that running away from one's wedding only happened in tacky, melodramatic novels.

She and Cen Qingyun had grown up together, their families were well matched, and their first love in middle school had naturally led them to the altar after graduating from university.

However, she never imagined that at the wedding, halfway through his vows, her fiancé of eight years would turn and run.

Because he'd fallen in love with another woman.

The young woman came from a poor family, had little education, and was merely pretty. After an unexpected car accident, she lay in the hospital, her life hanging in the balance.

Torn between his true love, the woman he had cherished from afar, and his childhood sweetheart and fiancée, Cen Qingyun ultimately chose the former when faced with the prospect of life and death.

The wedding descended into chaos, and the Lu family was furious at being humiliated.

The engagement was called off, and Lu Lingyue became his ex-girlfriend.

Cen Qingyun was thrown out of the Cen family home, but remained determined to elope with the woman he loved.

Fuming, Lu Lingyue watched coldly from the sidelines.

Without his family's support, how long could the aimless young master Cen endure the everyday grind of life?

Without money, influence, or the refined bearing built up by his family's resources, how long could his beloved really love him?

Just as Lu Lingyue had expected, within two years, the young master Cen broke up with his girlfriend and slunk back home to inherit the family business.

But what Lu Lingyue hadn't expected was that years later, when Cen had found his footing and wanted to rekindle things with his former beloved, she, his ex-girlfriend, would stand in front of that woman protectively and say to him icily, "You're not good enough for her."
