As two rising stars of the new generation of actors, Li Mengjue and Ruan Qingxiao were an industry-wide mystery: they never appeared together.

In the few times their eyes had met from afar, Ruan Qingxiao's gaze had always turned to ice in an instant. So Li Mengjue, who hated trouble, decided to keep her distance.

It wasn't until she'd signed the contract for a new drama that Li Mengjue found out her co-star, the second female lead, had been replaced at the last minute with Ruan Qingxiao.

The fans cheered as if it were New Year's, while Li Mengjue was already considering whether she could get away with pretending to have terminal cancer.

But on a rainy night just before filming began, Li Mengjue found Ruan Qingxiao passed out by the roadside.
