A Thousand Glances

School days pining / City reunion / Love at last / A sweet little romance

Slightly socially anxious novelist x refined translator

A candid, easygoing novelist who's pined for years without ever expecting to get what she wants x a possessive, unhinged translator who falls in love late but will never let go

Zhou Hanyun never imagined she'd see Shen Yuanqing again at a book signing for her novel, Glimmer.

In that moment, she saw the most hopeless and secret joy hidden in the silence of her youth.

Shen Yuanqing was the inspiration for the male lead of Glimmer.

As she signed the title page, Zhou Hanyun felt a little nervous, unsure whether he would notice the connection as a reader.

But Shen Yuanqing didn't recognize her at all.

She was relieved, but couldn't help feeling a little disappointed.

She thought it would be nothing more than a one-sided reunion, but the translation and publication of Glimmer brought them together again.

They walked along the beach together, watched movies together, and watched the sun rise and set together.

One by one, the regrets of their youth were made right. Content at last, Zhou Hanyun decided to let go of her unrequited love.

The night before she left, the hotel happened to lose power.

Zhou Hanyun stood before the floor-to-ceiling window on the twenty-third floor, taking in the panorama of Haicheng, when someone knocked at the door.

Shen Yuanqing, usually so composed and self-controlled, spoke in a hoarse voice. "I love you."

"The kind of love that means I want to marry you."

But hadn't he said he never wanted to marry?

Zhou Hanyun was stunned.

"I've watched you from the corner of my eye, thousands upon thousands of times, year after year, thinking of you."
